The mortar is a cooking utensil used, in addition to the pestle or otherwise pestle for crushing, grinding and mashing solids such as spices or covertures and shuffling fats in cooking or baking. The word comes from the mortar word pestle (pestle-DGI-mortar). Made of wood, marble or metal, and has a concave shape.
