Description Traditional method sparkling wine made from 75% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Nero, and 10% Pinot Bianco by Ca del’ Bosco, one of the region’s top organic producers in Italy. This sparkling will give any Champagne a good run for its money! TASTING NOTE: Visual characteristics: Beautiful soft lemon colour with a delicate mousse. On the nose: Oozing with rich aromas of peach and biscuits and a nutty undertone that leads to the zesty finish. On the palate: A medium body with a fine and luxurious mousse, while presenting flavours that are rich, and creamy with plenty more notes of peaches, tangerine, lemon curd and a shortbread biscuit quality that lingers on a long finish. 12.5% alcohol. FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This sparkling wine is very versatile and can be matched with numerous dishes. Try this wine alongside a crostini with salt cod, and an aged balsamic drizzle. Also try it with tagliatelle and fresh porcini mushrooms in a light cream sauce. This can also be enjoyed on its own as a substitute for any Champagne at a party. It’s ready to drink now but will continue to drink well into 2025. ABOUT: Maurizio Zanella moved to the Franciacorta area, in the Northeast of Italy on the border between Veneto and Lombardy, in the 1960s as a fifteen-year-old boy, when he fell in love with the wines and the region. After a trip through Champagne years later, he returned inspired and with a mission to convert his childhood home in the chestnut and oak forest (Ca’del bosc means ‘home of the woods’) into the leading winery in the Franciacorta region that it is today. The estate practices organic farming throughout their own vineyards as well as working with another 200 acres across the region. The gift wrap that accompanies the Ca’del Bosco is entirely biodegradable cellophane and is included to protect the wine in the clear bottle from light.
