Description This Bordeaux is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It’s produced by one of our favourites from the Margaux region, on the left bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Brane-Cantenac. This has plenty of flavour, and excellent balance, typical of the wines that have made Bordeaux so famous. TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet colour. On the nose: blackcurrant, blackerry, plum, some mixed herbs and spice. On the palate: Medium-bodied with smooth tannins, plenty of black and red fruits, such as blackberry, cherry, and spice with a soft, mellow and satisfying finish. FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: With plenty of black fruit flavours and good structure, we suggest pairing this wine with red meats, such as a grilled steak, or with a warm and hearty eggplant confit and a rich tomato-based sauce. Drink now or till Spring 2027. ABOUT: Margaux de Brane isn’t quite in the same class as the Grand Vin from Chateau Brane-Cantenac, as it’s for earlier drinking rather than further cellaring. But it is a lovely wine with a relatively modest price tag. Henri Lurton manages the Chateau and its vineyards and makes the wines; which demonstrate their quality and finesse every year whatever the weather in Bordeaux.
