MINT – THE PLANT Scientific name: Mentha Arvensis. Description: Aromatic plant of the Lamiaceae family. History: Known use throughout history as an analgesic, cough suppressant and decongestant in cases of stuffy nose and difficulty breathing. MINT – “BIOLOGOS” ESSENTIAL OIL Technique: Extracted from the leaves of the plant during flowering, through steam distillation. Composition: Contains tanins: menthone (ketone) and menthol (alcohol). The second has been proven equally analgesic as paracetamol in case of headache. Scent: Strong and spicy. Country: India. QUALITIES Powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antiseptic, anti-convulsant.
