ORANGE – THE PLANT Scientific name: Citrus Sinensis. Description: Evergreen fruit tree of the Rutaceae family. Origins: China and India. History: Portuguese seafarers brought it to Europe around the mid-15th century, and its cultivation was warmly embraced in many countries. ORANGE – “BIOLOGOS” ESSENTIAL OIL Technique: Extracted from the peel of the fruit through steam distillation. The “Biologos” company uses high-quality Greek oranges from the Laconia area.
